Platformer

The Platformer pilot project aims to give young people who are passionate about games the right skills to make the leap from consuming games to creating their own. The team from Winding Snake Productions are currently working with two groups of young people at Pontardawe Arts Centre in Neath Port Talbot, and the project is supported by NHS Wales Occupational Therapy so that young people with autism and Asperger Syndrome may engage as participants. Over the six month pilot, young people are being taught using affordable technology and free, easy to access software. In doing so, the project seeks to give participants all the tools they need to continue creating their own games after the project has completed. The groups are following a typical games industry production process to create their own game, taking the young people from concept development through to design, programming and testing.
